WEDNESDAY 13 Is '100 Percent' Into Doing Another MURDERDOLLS Album

Dirty Rock Magazine recently conducted an interview with Wednesday 13 (MURDERDOLLS, FRANKENSTEIN DRAG QUEENS FROM PLANET 13, BOURBON CROW). A couple of excerpts from the chat follow below.

Dirty Rock Magazine: Do you ever see yourself heading in more of a theatrical stage show direction?

Wednesday 13: There was a point right after "Skeletons" was recorded that I was just finishing up my prior touring obligations at the end of last year. I was in a car accident, broke my collar bone and I wasn't able to play guitar. So the band moved to a five-piece at that point, so I was really starting to do more of a theatrical show at the end of last year and the first tour this year was more of a theatrical theme. But it's one of those things where to put on a show, and do it the right way that I would want to do it in my mind requires a lot of money, and at this point I'm still just playing local bars and clubs. I would never want to be looked at as a low-budget ALICE COOPER because the guy is great and he's done everything. There's really nothing more he can do and then you get people like MARILYN MANSON who put on their own show and has a great show, ROB ZOMBIE, people like that. I've always been compared to those kind of artists and I'm flattered but the thing that I think that separates me from those artists is that musically it's got similarities but I've always considered myself a guitar player as well, so I think it kind of separates me from those artists. I definitely like playing the guitar parts but as far as doing a big show, going back to your question, I really think it's a budget thing and I really hope one day, and the way things are going, every year it seems my audience is getting bigger, I really hope in a couple of years to put out some ridiculous stage shows. That's definitely in the future I think its just money is a big thing on making that come to life.

Dirty Rock Magazine: Back when Acey Slade joined you on tour during that time you were injured, did you guys talk about MURDERDOLLS and is that something you'd like to revisit someday?

Wednesday 13: I've always talked about it and I keep in touch with some of the guys. But at that time when Acey came back to the band for a bit, neither one of us had talked to Joey (Jordison; SLIPKNOT drummer and MURDERDOLLS guitarist) for quite some time. It was always kind of, well, we'll see what happens one day. I've been in touch with Joey more in the past few months than I have been in the past few years and I'm just kind of waiting to see what happens with SLIPKNOT when it's done. I told Joey that if he's into doing another MURDERDOLLS album, I'm 100 percent for doing it. So hopefully if he gets the free time when SLIPKNOT is done touring for the latest album, maybe if it's a possibility of doing that and I would love to do that.
